Katharos is the Greek word for PURE.  Katharos Love was birthed out of a deep desire to meet the physical and spiritual needs of children wherever God leads.

When we began, Katharos Love supported an orphanage in Ghana.  After about a year, it became very obvious that it was the older children and young adults who were suffering the most, as they were unable to continue their education because they were put into service to cook and care for the younger ones.  These older ones had hopes of learning a skill or trade and becoming self-sufficient but had no support to take the next steps to achieve their dreams.

Since being led by God to shift our focus to these older children, we have been able to award scholarships to brilliant but impoverished young adults all over Ghana, most coming from orphanages or single-parent homes.  By doing so, we believe that we will have a bigger impact on the communities in which we serve.  Our Katharos Love Scholarship Program provides educational fees and books, nutritious food, housing, and medical care, as well as real-time resources, pay-it-forward activism, leadership skills, mentorship programs, and peer-to-peer support.
