There is so much I’ve been looking forward to sharing with you! Our recent trip to Ghana was filled with sweet reunions, meaningful time with our students and board members, and wonderful reminders of why this ministry matters. And since returning home, we’ve received some especially exciting news about one of our students, Silas! At the same time, another bright young woman has reached out to Katharos Love hoping for the opportunity to continue her education. I’m excited to share all of these updates with you—and a short video that captures some of the special moments from our time in Ghana.
This year’s trip to Ghana was such a gift! We had the joy of spending time with our students—sharing meals, hearing about their studies and dreams for the future, and simply enjoying being together. We also spent time serving alongside our Ghanaian board members and friends, including painting and helping brighten local school spaces. But as always, the moments I treasured most were the conversations, hugs and laughter with the young people we’ve come to know and love. There’s something incredibly special about seeing firsthand the lives behind the scholarships—and being reminded that your generosity is opening doors that once seemed impossible.
Come to Ghana With Us!
We wish we could take each of you to Ghana to meet these incredible young people for yourselves! Until then, we hope this short video gives you a glimpse into our time there—the people we love, the relationships that have grown over the years, and the difference your support is making.

A Full-Circle Moment: Wonderful News About Silas

We recently received some wonderful news about Silas, one of our Katharos Love scholarship recipients! After completing his university studies, Silas began his required year of National Service with a company in Ghana. His hard work and abilities have clearly made an impression—they’ve offered him a permanent position when his National Service ends!
This is exactly what we hope for when we invest in a student’s education: not simply a diploma, but an opportunity to build a career, become self-sufficient and create a different future for themselves and their families. We are so proud of Silas, and so grateful to everyone who helped make his education possible. This is what your investment in Katharos Love can become.
Princess Is Ready for Her Next Chapter

Even as we celebrate Silas and all that his future holds, another young person we’ve known for years is hoping for that same opportunity.
I first met Princess five years ago, when Katharos Love began and she was living in the orphanage we were supporting. Since then, she has finished high school and returned to live with her mother, who is currently facing some health challenges. And now Princess has reached an exciting milestone: she has been accepted to the University of Energy & Natural Resources in Sunyani to study Fire, Safety and Disaster Management.
When I asked Princess why she chose this field, I loved her answer:
“I have a passion to lead... There are not many women in this job, which is also an opportunity for me.”We would love to help Princess take this next step. Unfortunately, our current scholarship funds are fully committed to the students we already support, so we cannot offer her a scholarship unless additional funding is provided specifically for her.
A full university sponsorship is $300 per month, or $3,600 per year, helping cover tuition and fees, housing, food, books, transportation and other educational and living expenses.
Perhaps someone reading this is meant to be Princess’s “yes.”
And please know—it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Several people could come together to sponsor Princess, or you may choose to help with a portion of her expenses. A gift of any amount would bring us closer to being able to tell this remarkable young woman, “Yes, you can go.”
Help Princess Go to University
Every student we support has a story, a dream, and a future filled with possibilities. We are so grateful that you continue to walk alongside these young people—celebrating their successes, praying for their needs, and helping open doors that might otherwise remain closed.
Thank you for being part of the Katharos Love family and for believing, as we do, that an education can change the trajectory of a life.
With gratitude,
Lisa, Leslie, & Debbie
